Google comes to town...

GOOGLE chief Ben Legg will be the guest speaker at the Hotel du Vin, Tunbridge Wells, for West Kent Networking's February meeting.

The Royal Bank of Scotland have sponsored the gala lunch on Friday February 15 and Ben, director of operations for Google in Great Britain, Ireland and Benelux, will give members and guests a rare and exclusive insight into life at the world's biggest internet search engine.

‘It's a fantastic coup for the group to get a guest of Ben's quality,' said West Kent Networking co-founder Stephen Fleming. ‘To get a world class speaker just shows the impact the group is making in Kent, Sussex and beyond.

‘Ben is West Kent born and bred. He spent 10 years in the Royal Engineers, including active service in Northern Ireland and Bosnia, and worked for Coca-Cola for five years. He headed up a sales force of 12,000 in India before joining Google last year.

‘He will be telling members how their businesses can effectively market themselves online and giving a glimpse into the future of search engineering, among many other things.'

West Kent Networking was formed in May last year and now has in excess of 100 members. Founded by Stephen Fleming and Jeremy Timms as an antidote to regimented and potentially expensive business networking groups.

WKN is, and always has been, free to join and attend regular monthly meetings.

Sponsorship from RBS and a year-long partnership agreement with EDEAL, the Eastbourne and District Enterprise Agency Ltd, has enabled the lunch, which includes some drinks, to be heavily subsidised to bring costs down to £30 per head.
There are limted places left at the lunch. Go to www.westkentnetworking.co.uk for registration and more details.
